Instructions for Vertical Response Email
How to Mark VerticalResponse Emails as NOT Spam
Gmail (gmail.com)
Option 1 – From Spam Folder

Open Spam on the left menu

Find the message
-
Click “Not spam” at the top
Option 2 – Add to Contacts

Open the email
-
Click the three dots (⋮) in the top right
-
Choose “Add [sender] to Contacts list”
This helps Gmail trust future messages.
Outlook.com / Hotmail / MSN
Option 1 – Mark as Not Junk

Open your Junk Email folder
-
Select the message
-
Click “Not junk” at the top
Option 2 – Add to Safe Senders

Click the gear icon → View all Outlook settings

Go to: Mail → Junk email
-
Under Safe senders and domains, click Add

Enter your sending address (e.g., info@yourorg.org)
Microsoft Outlook (desktop app)

Right-click the email
-
Choose Junk → Not Junk

Check “Always trust email from this address”

Click OK
Apple Mail (iPhone/iPad/Mac)

Open the Junk folder

Find the message
-
Tap Move to Inbox

Then open the message and tap Add to Contacts
Yahoo Mail

Open the Spam folder
-
Select the email
-
Click “Not Spam”

Open the message and click Add to contacts for the sender.

Go to the Spam folder

Click “Not Spam” at the top
These instructions are for individuals who may receive emails in their Spam or Junk folder instead of their Inbox or All Mail folder. You do not want to miss out important information regarding Eastern Deaf Timberfest related events.

Instructions for Gmail Mail
To ensure emails from Vertical Response do not go to your Spam folder in Gmail, follow these steps:
- Mark Emails as “Not Spam”:
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Spam folder:
- Open the email.
- Click the “Report not spam” button at the top of the email. This action moves the email to your inbox and tells Gmail that emails from this sender are safe.
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Spam folder:
- Add Vertical Response to Your Contacts:
- Open an email from Vertical Response.
- Hover over the sender’s name or email address at the top of the email.
- Click “Add to Contacts” or “Add to Google Contacts.”
- Create a Filter to Prevent Spam:
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select “See all settings.”
- Go to the “Filters and Blocked Addresses” tab.
- Click “Create a new filter.”
- In the “From” field, enter the Vertical Response email address (e.g.,
Eastern_Deaf_Timberfest@mail.vresp.com). - Click “Create filter.”
- Check the box for “Never send it to Spam.”
- Click “Create filter” to save.
Instructions for Yahoo Mail
To ensure emails from Vertical Response do not go to your Spam folder in Yahoo Mail, follow these steps:
- Mark Emails as “Not Spam”:
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Spam folder:
- Open the email.
- Click the “Not Spam” button at the top of the email. This action moves the email to your inbox and tells Yahoo Mail that emails from this sender are safe.
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Spam folder:
- Add Vertical Response to Your Contacts:
- Open an email from Vertical Response.
- Hover over the sender’s name or email address at the top of the email.
- Click “Add to Contacts” or “Add to Yahoo Contacts.”
- Create a Filter to Prevent Spam:
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select “More Settings.”
- Go to the “Filters” section.
- Click “Add new filters.”
- Enter a name for the filter (e.g., “Vertical Response”).
- In the “From” field, enter the Vertical Response email address (e.g.,
Eastern_Deaf_Timberfest@mail.vresp.com). - Under “Then move the message to this folder,” select “Inbox.”
- Click “Save” to apply the filter.
Instructions for AOL Mail
To ensure emails from Vertical Response do not go to your Spam folder in AOL Mail, follow these steps:
- Mark Emails as “Not Spam”:
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Spam folder:
- Open the email.
- Click the “Not Spam” button at the top of the email. This action moves the email to your inbox and tells AOL Mail that emails from this sender are safe.
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Spam folder:
- Add Vertical Response to Your Contacts:
- Open an email from Vertical Response.
- Hover over the sender’s name or email address at the top of the email.
- Click “Add Contact.”
- Fill in the details and click “Add Contact” to save.
- Create a Filter to Prevent Spam:
- Click “Options” in the top-right corner and select “Mail Settings.”
- Go to the “Filters and Alerts” section.
- Click “Create Filter.”
- Enter a name for the filter (e.g., “Vertical Response”).
- In the “From” field, enter the Vertical Response email address (e.g.,
Eastern_Deaf_Timberfest@mail.vresp.com). - Under “Move to Folder,” select “Inbox.”
- Click “Save” to apply the filter.
- Check Spam Settings:
- Go to “Options” > “Mail Settings.”
- Under “Spam Settings,” ensure that the spam filter is not overly strict.
- Add the Vertical Response email address to your “Safe Senders List.”
Instructions for MSN Mail (Outlook.com/Hotmail)
To ensure emails from Vertical Response do not go to your Spam or Junk folder in MSN Mail, follow these steps:
- Mark Emails as “Not Junk”:
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Junk folder:
- Open the email.
- Click the “It’s not junk” button at the top of the email. This action moves the email to your inbox and tells MSN Mail that emails from this sender are safe.
- If you find a Vertical Response email in your Junk folder:
- Add Vertical Response to Your Safe Senders List:
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select “View all Outlook settings.”
- Go to “Junk email” under the “Mail” section.
- Under “Safe senders and domains,” click “Add.”
- Enter the Vertical Response email address (e.g.,
) or domain (e.g.,
assistanttimberfest@easterndeaftimberfest.org,Eastern_Deaf_Timberfest@mail.vresp.com). - Click “Save” to apply the changes.
- Create a Rule to Always Move Emails to Inbox:
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select “View all Outlook settings.”
- Go to “Rules” under the “Mail” section.
- Click “Add new rule.”
- Enter a name for the rule (e.g., “Vertical Response”).
- Under “Add a condition,” select “From” and enter the Vertical Response email address (e.g.,
Eastern_Deaf_Timberfest@mail.vresp.com). - Under “Add an action,” select “Move to” and choose “Inbox.”
- Click “Save” to apply the rule.
- Check Your Junk Email Settings:
- Go to “Junk email” under “Mail” settings.
- Ensure that your junk email filter is not set to “Exclusive,” as this may block emails from unknown senders.
- Add Vertical Response to your “Safe mailing lists” if needed.
